District Enery

District Energy systems require reliable and durable water pumps.

The pumps are often exposed to intense working conditions, namely high pressures, extreme temperatures and continuous running.

These conditions require a pump durability constructed from strong materials and with quality parts. Our pumps are designed to meet these demands.

Originally based in the maritime industry, we have over the years expanded our competences into other industries. We ensure high quality and long life of all our pumps and we are constantly on the lookout for new and better ways to design and manufacture.

District Cooling

In any building, cooling and firefighting is of essence and choosing the correct pumps is vital. A lot is saved and made easier when the right solutions are selected as early in the project phase as possible. Our knowledge of pumps and our flexibility in accommodating individual requirements enable us to work out solutions for the building construction industry. Our pump program allows us to select low energy and long life pumps, which has made IRON Pump A/S world famous as a supplier of sustainable solutions.

District Heating

In the beginning of the 1980's, optimization of energy resources played a vital part in many countries, including Denmark. At that time, many of the power plants producing electricity in Denmark were producing below 40% of the required efficiency. With the excess heat from the electricity production not being utilized but simply led into the surrounding sea, the first major district heating installation in Denmark was initiated with the title CHP (Combined Heat and Power).

Today, a 1,500 km network of twin pipes and pump stations provide heating for more than 500,000 customers in the Greater Copenhagen area, covering 20% of Denmark's heating needs. On the large scale, 64% of all Danish households get their heating from a district heating network.

At IRON Pump, we are proud to have been part of this initiative from the beginning. It laid the foundation for the expertise we possess in the sector today. Initially in the 1980’s, a series of 32 pump units ranging from 24 m3/h to 2421 m3/h were installed, and through the following decades we have performed routine service of our pumps, helped upgrade units and expand the grid to reach more customers and help meet the increasing demands for the future.
