IRON POWER TO THE PEOPLE
At the time in Denmark, many of the electricity producing power plants were producing below 40% of the required efficiency and with the excess heat not being utilized but simply led into the surrounding sea, the first major district heating installation in Denmark was initiated.
The plant was built in Copenhagen and today, the 1,500 km double-piped network provides heat for more than 30,000 customers in the Greater Copenhagen area. At IRON Pump, we are proud to be part of this initiative, which laid the foundation of our expertise we possess today.
Initially, a series of 32 pumping units, ranging from 24 m3/h to 2421 m3/h were installed and through the years, we have performed routine service on the pumps.
